One injured in Wednesday night shooting in Cedar Rapids

CEDAR RAPIDS — One person was injured Wednesday evening in a shooting in the 1500 block of Third Avenue SE, according to the Cedar Rapids Police Department.
Police were called to the scene at 6:03 p.m. for reports of shots fired. They found a 26-year-old male suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. The man, who was not identified, was treated and transported to a hospital, a news release states. The extent of his injuries or his condition were not provided.
Investigators interviewed witnesses and were asking anyone with information about the incident to call Linn County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-272-7463.
