One injured in Sunday afternoon shooting in Cedar Rapids

CEDAR RAPIDS — The Cedar Rapids Police Department is investigating a shooting after a man was found with a gunshot wound in his chest Sunday.

Police were called to the 2200 block of C Street SW just after 4 p.m., according to a news release from the police department. Emergency lifesaving measures were administered and the wounded man was transported to a hospital. He is in critical, but stable, condition, according to the news release.

Police found evidence at the crime scene that “appears related to the shooting,” the release states, and are continuing to search for evidence and witnesses.

The release did not state whether anyone has been arrested in connection with the shooting.
