One injured in Cedar Rapids shooting

CEDAR RAPIDS — One person was injured in a shooting Monday night in northwest Cedar Rapids, according to police.
The shooting happened about 10:15 p.m. Monday in the 3100 block of O Avenue NW. When police arrived, they encountered several people including the person who fired the gun and the person who was injured. Officials have not released the identity of either.
The injured person was treated at the scene and then transported to a hospital with serious, but not life-threatening, injuries, according to a police news release.
“The individuals involved in this incident have been interviewed. All parties are known to one another. Criminal charges related to this incident have not been filed as it remains under investigation,” the release states.
Information about the motive or cause of the shooting has not been released.
