Police said a Kalona man pulled a gun on county employees working near his residence on Monday.
According to the Johnson County Sheriff's Office, Secondary Roads employees were working near 78-year-old Leo L. Shrock's property at 1626 500th St. SW at 11 a.m. Monday. Police said Schrock “became irate” with the workers and screamed at them to leave, despite them not being on his property.
Schrock allegedly told the workers he would get his gun and make them leave. Police said Shrock then went into his home, grabbed a rifle and went back outside.
It is unclear whether Shrock pointed the gun at the workers or made any additional threats.
The sheriff's office responded to the home and took Shrock into custody. He faces one count of going armed with intent.
