May. 14, 2018 11:12 am
NORTH LIBERTY - A North Liberty man was arrested in connection with allegations of child endangerment after his girlfriend's son suffered bruises and raised marks on his arms.
Trevon Walker, 24, is accused of child endangerment causing bodily injury, a Class D felony, and assault with intent to inflict serious injury, an aggravated misdemeanor.
The victim's father brought the child to the Cedar Rapids Police Department saying his child suffered the injuries caused by the boyfriend while staying with his mother in North Liberty, according to the criminal complaint. The complain said the father suspected the injuries were caused by a metal belt buckle.
Walker was still being held in the Johnson County Jail Monday morning. A Class D felony is punishable by up to five years in prison.
