Name released of man killed in Coralville shooting

The Coralville Police Department released the name Friday of a man who was shot to death at a mobile home park in Coralville Wednesday evening.

Mason Edwards, 27, was shot twice in the chest at the Western Hills Mobile Estates Wednesday, just before midnight.

Police were called to the mobile home park at 11:54 p.m. and found Edwards, who was pronounced dead at the scene, according to a news release from the department.

The release does not state whether an arrest has been made, but does say investigators don’t believe there is an immediate threat to the public because the incident was isolated. Anyone with information about the shooting or who was in the area at the time has been asked to call the Coralville Police Department at 319-248-1800.
