Authorities have released the names of two men who died after a boat carrying duck hunters crashed into a buoy on the Mississippi River between Iowa and Illinois.
Coroner Brian Gustafson of Rock Island County, Ill., identified the men as 50-year-old David Slater, of Davenport, and 42-year-old Thomas Trainer, of Canton, Ill. The crash occurred early on Saturday on the Illinois side of the river, not far from Muscatine on the Iowa side.
The two men had joined five others to go duck hunting. The names of the other five haven't been released. They were taken to Iowa hospitals for treatment.
The accident is being investigated.
