A Marion man was arrested Monday on charges he robbed a Marion gas station at gunpoint in May.
Jamey Lee Heil, 32, is charged with first-degree robbery. According to a criminal complaint, he went May 25 into the Kum & Go at 1203 Blairs Ferry Rd. and demanded at gunpoint that an employee hand him all the money in the store. The employee gave him the money.
Investigators identified the car that Heil used in the robbery and identified him as the driver using video surveillance. A search warrant was executed at Heil’s residence, where police said they found more items that he used during the robbery, according to a news release from the Marion Police Department.
When Heil talked with police about the robbery, he said, “I made a huge mistake,” according to the complaint.
