Marion home scheduled to move july 31, resulting in rolling road closures

A home at 1355 Eighth Ave. in Marion is scheduled to be relocated on Tuesday, July 31 to a lot at 1060 29th Street.

This move is scheduled to begin at 8 a.m. and should take until noon to complete.

There will be a rolling road closure in effect as the house moves to the final resting spot.

The house is set to move south on 14th Street east on Seventh Avenue to 26th Street. The house will travel north on 26th Street to Eighth Avenue, east to 27th Street, then north to 10th Avenue and east to its final destination on 29th Street.

People who need to travel during this time are asked to find alternative routes to alleviate congestions.

The property's record on the Linn County Assessor's website shows the current total value as $100,700, with $13,900 being allocated to the land value.
