A Manchester man could face attempted murder charges after a man was allegedly struck by a vehicle and found lying on a Manchster sidewalk Friday night.
Police were called around 11:20 p.m. Monday to the 300 block of East Fayette Street for a report that a man had been struck by a vehicle, which then sped away from the scene. Upon arrival, police found a 24-year-old man lying on the sidewalk. The victim received medical attention for what appeared to be non-life threatening injuries, officials said.
Upon investigation and interviews with witnesses, police arrested 40-year-old Charles Wright and seized what they believe to be the offending vehicle. Police believe Wright and the victim may have been involved in some kind of altercation earlier in the evening near a tavern.
Wright was taken to the Delaware County Jail, and a $25,000 bond was set. The incident remains under investigation.
