Man shot, injured wife while driving on I-80 before turning gun on himself
The couple, from Michigan, was traveling west, near the border of Iowa and Johnson counties

A man shot and seriously injured his wife while traveling on Interstate 80 near Williamsburg before turning the gun on himself.
The Iowa County Sheriff’s Office on Wednesday issued a news release with more details of the June 20 shooting. According to the release, David Morse, 56, shot his wife, Tara Morse, 52, around 9 p.m. while the couple from Holt, Michigan, was traveling westbound on I-80 near the Johnson County and Iowa County line.
After shooting his wife, David Morse stopped the vehicle he was driving along the I-80 westbound on-ramp of exit 225, in rural Williamsburg, and turned the gun on himself, firing once. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Tara Morse was taken to the hospital with serious injuries, but survived, according to the news release.
The sheriff's office has said it was investigating the shooting with help from the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation and the state medical examiner’s office.
No additional information, including a reason for the shooting, was available Wednesday.
The Iowa County Sheriff’s Office said the case has been resolved based on the findings.
