A man shot in the face entered a Walford home Saturday morning and sought help from the residents there, authorities said.
The residents told Linn County sheriff’s deputies they did not know the man, who the Sheriff’s Office said is 39, when he came about 6:30 a.m. to the home at 160 C St. NE in Walford. The man, whose name was not released, was transported to a hospital with serious injuries, officials said.
The Sheriff’s Office did not say how the man came to be shot or why he picked that address to seek help. However, a news release said that “there does not appear to be any threat to the public.”
The Sheriff’s Office said the investigation was ongoing. The Fairfax Fire Department and the Area Ambulance Service joined the Sheriff’s Office in responding to the scene.
