Man shot in southwest Cedar Rapids

Another shooting was reported in Cedar Rapids Monday night with the individual receiving what police believe to be non-life-threatening injuries.
According to a police media release, at 8:20 p.m. Monday officers were dispatched to Mercy Hospital in Cedar Rapids in reference to a man who was suffering from a single gunshot wound.
After speaking with the man, officers determined that he had been had shot while he was in a vehicle at the 4100 block of 22nd Ave SW, according to the release. Officers were sent to that location where they located shell casings from the scene. Officers said that the injuries the man suffered did not appear to be life-threatening.
As this is an ongoing investigation no more information will be released about this incident at this time.
Monday's night shooting follows a shooting in Bertram Sunday that injured one and resulted in the death of another, as well as a shooting last Thursday in Cedar Rapids that injured two.
