Man dies after being struck by chemical sprayer in rural Johnson County

A 65-year-old Wellman man was killed Monday after he was struck and run over by a chemical sprayer.
According to a media release from the Johnson County Sheriff's Office, at 1:14 p.m. deputies and emergency personnel responded to 4737 Blackhawk Ave SW in rural Johnson County for the report of a fatal farming accident. There they discovered that a man, Merlyn Yoder, 65, had been 'struck and run over by a chemical sprayer.' Yoder died at the scene.
The Washington County Sheriff's Office, Iowa State Patrol, Wellman Fire Department, Johnson County Ambulance Service, and the Johnson County Medical Examiner assisted at the scene, according to the release.
The Johnson County Sheriff's investigation into the incident is ongoing.
