Man dies after being found with stab wound to his chest at Cedar Rapids apartment building
Two “male individuals” present at the scene were questioned about the incident by police.

Emergency responders were unable to save a man who was found Wednesday afternoon with a stab wound to his chest at a Cedar Rapids apartment building.
According to a Cedar Rapids Police media release, at 3:35 p.m. Wednesday officers were dispatched to the 1500 block of 5th Avenue SE regarding a fight and potential stabbing.
According to the release, officers found an unresponsive adult male on the floor of an apartment building common area. Officers observed the man was suffering from a stab wound to his chest, and began CPR, but the man was declared dead at the scene.
Police say “two male individuals” present at the scene were transported to the police department for interviews.
The name of the victim is being withheld, pending the notification of family members.
Police say that the attack was not a random event and the general public is not considered at risk. The investigation continues and no further details will be released at this time, according to the release.
