Lone Tree man charged with sexual abuse

A Lone Tree man was arrested this week on charges that he sexually abused a woman he met at a bar in Iowa City.
Aaron Raymond Slaughter, 23, is facing one count of third-degree sexual abuse. According to a criminal complaint, he met a woman on Feb. 25 at a bar in downtown Iowa City through a mutual acquaintance. The woman told investigators she remembers having a couple of drinks, but doesn’t remember leaving the bar.
Video surveillance showed Slaughter and the woman leaving the bar together, the complaint states. She remembers waking up in Slaughter’s truck while he sexually abused her. She asked him to stop, which he refused to do.
Slaughter dropped the woman off at a residence, but the residents didn’t know Slaughter or the woman. The residents told police the woman appeared almost unconscious in the back of the truck, and that she had blood on her and her clothes were disheveled.
Blood and other DNA found on Slaughter matched the woman’s DNA, according to the complaint.
Slaughter was arrested Monday and made his first appearance in court Tuesday. He was released from jail after posting a $10,000 bond. A no-contact order has been filed on behalf of the victim.
