Lisbon auto shop destroyed by fire

A Lisbon firefighter said a Thursday morning fire has destroyed a local business.

Crews responded to Auto Worx, 938 Myers Dr. in Lisbon, at about 5 a.m. Wednesday for a call of a building that was fully engulfed.

The Auto Worx building sits right next to a propane tank, so fire crews worked early Thursday to avoid the fire from spreading to the tank. They said wind helped keep that from happening.

Auto Worx has only been open at the Myers Drive location since January.

The building was empty when the fire started, so no one was injured.  The cause is still under investigation. Investigators from Linn County have been called to Lisbon to help with the process.

Lisbon was aided by a handful of surrounding departments in controlling the fire.
