Juvenile injured in Cedar Rapids shooting

CEDAR RAPIDS — A juvenile was injured Friday in a shooting in northeast Cedar Rapids, according to the Cedar Rapids Police Department.
Police were called to the 4100 block of Center Point Road NE at 4:07 p.m. Friday for a report of a young man who had been injured by gunfire. He was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. A vehicle was also damaged in the shooting, a police news release states.
No arrests have been made yet in relation to the shooting, but investigators believe it was a targeted event, according to the release. Police are asking any witnesses to contact them at (319) 286-5491.
