Iowa State students plan memorial for classmate found in Iowa City
AMES - The Chinese Students and Scholars Association at Iowa State University will hold a memorial Friday for Tong Shao.
The 20-year-old Shao was first reported missing in early September. Last week, authorities found her body in the trunk of a car in Iowa City after nearly three weeks of searching.
Investigators identified 23-year-old Xiangnan Li, a University of Iowa student, as a person of interest in her disappearance and death. However, they suspect he has returned to China.
The memorial will be at 7 p.m. Friday on the south lawn of the Campanile on the ISU campus.
