Iowa City police investigating attempted abduction

IOWA CITY — The Iowa City Police Department is seeking the public’s help identifying a suspect in an attempted abduction Saturday near Oakland Cemetery.
Police responded to the area at 10:25 p.m. for a report that someone had attempted to abduct a 12-year-old child, according to a news release from the department.
The suspect was described as wearing a black leather coat, black gloves and a hooded sweatshirt. The suspect’s gender or any other descriptive information has not been released.
