Iowa City police investigate possible assault

Iowa City police are investigating a possible assault after a person reported being grabbed and forced to the ground.
Police said officers responded just after 1 a.m. to the 700 block of E. Washington St., near College Green Park. The person told police they were grabbed and forced to the ground before getting free and running to safety.
Police said the suspect was described as a blond 19- to 25-year-old white male, weighing 150 to 160 pounds and wearing a blue American Eagle V-neck shirt and khaki shorts.
The Iowa City Police Department is asking for the public's help in identifying the suspect. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 319-356-5276.
Iowa City Area Crime Stoppers is also offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information about this crime. Tipsters are urged to contact Crime Stoppers at iccrimestoppers.org or 319-358-8477. All calls are anonymous.
