An Iowa City man was charged last week with multiple counts of sexual exploitation of a minor after police say he recorded himself engaging in sex acts with teenagers.
Jonathan Kiasosa, 19, had been arrested in May 2023 on three charges of dissemination and exhibition of obscene material to minors after he used Instagram to send a pornographic video to two 14-year-olds and a 17-year-old, according to criminal complaints. He was released without bail and, in July 2023, pleaded not guilty to the charges, which are still in the process of being adjudicated.
Last Wednesday, a warrant was filed against him for additional charges — three counts of sexual exploitation of a minor, and two more counts of dissemination and exhibition of obscene material to minors.
According to criminal complaints, Kiasosa met a 14-year-old girl and 15-year-old girl at Chadek Green Park in May 2023, five days after the initial charges were filed against him. He recorded the girls performing sex acts in the park bathroom, and sent the video to both girls and to other people.
He was also involved a sexual relationship with a 14-year-old girl between June and December 2023, and had a video on his phone of the girl performing a sex act, according to complaints.
Kiasosa had his first appearance in court on the new charges Monday and was released without bail on the condition that he live with his parents until further order of the court.
