Iowa City man charged with sexual abuse

An Iowa City man was arrested Thursday on a charge of second-degree sexual abuse.
According to a criminal complaint, Jemaine Dugger, 52, strangled another person and committed a nonconsensual sex act against them in February of this year.
The victim went to the hospital after the assault and a sexual assault exam was performed, which found DNA that matched Dugger, the complaint states.
A warrant was issued for Dugger’s arrest on Oct. 9, and he was booked into the Johnson County Jail Thursday. He had a first appearance in court Thursday and is being held on a $25,000 bond.
A no-contact order has been filed on behalf of the victim.
