IOWA CITY — An Iowa City man who police say burglarized a residence near downtown Iowa City and then tried to break into other apartments nearby was arrested Thursday.
Officers were dispatched to an apartment unit at 912 S. Dubuque St. for a burglary at 5:29 p.m. Dec. 16, according to a criminal complaint. Police allege that Deon Brand, 21, entered a residence and committed the burglary while the residents were at home.
While en route to the scene, officers were dispatched to a fight on the 700 block of South Gilbert Street, where authorities said witnesses apprehended Brand.
