An Iowa City man was arrested Tuesday after police say he robbed an Iowa City Casey’s store on Sunday while claiming to have a gun.
Elenzie Porter, 54, is charged with second-degree robbery. According to a criminal complaint, he took $80 from the Casey’s at 204 North Dubuque St. after saying he was going to shoot the cashier and implying he had a gun.
He was caught on surveillance footage at the gas station, and multiple community members were able to identify him from stills of the footage, the complaint states. The police department released the pictures Tuesday with a request for help identifying the man.
Information about Porter’s initial appearance and bond were not available as of Wednesday afternoon.
