Nov. 14, 2018 12:11 pm
A 49-year-old Iowa City man was arrested Tuesday on a charge of sexual abuse after it was reported he had subjected a toddler to a sex act.
According to the criminal complaint, Andrew J. Harrison was babysitting a three-year-old girl on July 15. After the child was returned to her parents, the complaint states the toddler told her parents of the abuse.
The child was taken to an area hospital where DNA samples were collected. The complaint states that DNA analysis confirmed the presence of Harrison's DNA on the child's body and clothing.
Harrison is being held at Johnson County Jail on a $250,000 bond.
Court records show Harrison has a previous conviction on his record from 1996 in Polk County for lascivious acts with a child.
