Iowa City man accused of passing fake $100 bills at pharmacy

IOWA CITY - An Iowa City man was arrested Monday after police said he passed counterfeit money at a CVS Pharmacy.

According to the police report, Ryan D. Bacon, 27, was caught on video surveillance passing a counterfeit $100 bill around 6:15 p.m. Monday at CVS Pharmacy on Muscatine Avenue.

Police said Bacon later was found at his residence in the 2700 block of Wayne Avenue. The report said counterfeit bills, marijuana, methamphetamine and a meth pipe were found in Bacon's possession.

Police said Bacon also admitted to passing two counterfeit $100 bills at the same CVS Pharmacy earlier that day.

Bacon faces charges of forgery, possession of a controlled substance - marijuana, possession of a controlled substance - methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.
