Iowa City animal services seeks info on owner after dog bite

Iowa City authorities are seeking info on the owner of a dog who reportedly bit an Iowa City resident on Saturday.
According to a media release, Iowa City Animal Services is seeking information about the dog and its owner after receiving a report that the resident had been bitten at around 10:30 a.m. near the 300 block of E Court Street. The resident was bitten while helping a woman catch her dog that had gotten out of its harness, according to the release.
The dog is described in the release as being reddish-brown and small, weighing roughly 10-15 pounds.
Animal Services is seeking information about the dog regarding the need of a rabies vaccination. Individuals with information about the identity of the owner are encouraged to contact Iowa City Animal Services directly at 319-356-5295 or the Iowa City Police Department at 319-356-6800.
