Identity of Iowa City shooting victim released

IOWA CITY — The Iowa City Police Department on Tuesday released the identity of a woman who died after a Monday shooting.
Christine Blount, 38, of Iowa City, was pronounced dead at a hospital after police responded to a report of shots-fired at 2:38 a.m. Monday in the 600 block of South Dodge Street, according to an police department news release
The cause and manner of Blount’s death are still under investigation, the release states. No one has been arrested in the case, according to a police spokesperson.
