Four people sustained non-life threatening injuries in an Iowa City shooting that occurred just before 3 a.m. Sunday morning.
Police were called to the 600 block of East Court Street at 2:55 a.m. for a report of a shooting. Responding officers found one person injured and evidence that a shooting had occurred. The individual was transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Three additional people transported themselves to hospitals in Iowa City and Cedar Rapids for treatment of non-life threatening injuries, police said.
The area where the shooting was reported is lined with a concentration of apartment buildings.
The incident remains under investigation.
Iowa City Police were assisted by the Iowa City Fire Department, Johnson County Ambulance Service, Johnson County Sheriff's Office, the Johnson County Joint Emergency Communications Center, the University of Iowa Department of Campus Safety, and the Cedar Rapids Police Department.
