There were no injuries in a Thursday fire at a Cedar Rapids recycling facility.
Cedar Rapids public safety spokesman Greg Buelow said Cedar Rapids firefighters responded at about 3:40 p.m. Thursday to City Carton Recycling Facility, 901 Ingleside Drive SW. Employees were evacuated and the fire was soon under control, he added.
As of about 4:10 p.m., some fire crews were being released while others remained on the scene to check for hot spots along a recycling belt, Buelow said.
