Fire and explosion at ADM kills one firefighter, injures another

A fire and explosion killed a Clinton firefighter Saturday morning at an ADM Grain silo on 1811 South 4th Street.
According to KWQC a fire was discovered at ADM's Clinton loading facility in a silo storage bin. Fire crews worked to fight the flames, but according to the report, officials say an explosion killed one firefighter and injured another.
ADM issued a statement in response to the event.
'They put their lives in danger every day, and it's hard to express how much we appreciate their selfless help in a time of need,” read the statement. 'We greatly appreciate the quick response, bravery and dedication of all of the emergency responders today. We are deeply saddened at the turn of events.”
KWQC says the names of the deceased and injured firefighters have yet to be released, and the cause of the fire and explosion still is under investigation,
A news conference has been scheduled for 7 p.m., Saturday.
