CORALVILLE -- A Coralville man is accused of pointing a CO2 handgun at two people on Christmas morning.
The incident happened shortly before 11 a.m. in the 400 block of Fifth Street in Coralville, according to a criminal complaint.
The victims said the gunman was a light-skinned, shirtless Black man with a slim build and dreadlocks. They described the gun as tan and smaller than a rifle, the complaint stated.
Police said an hour later they located a man in the area who matched the description: 28-year-old Eddie Jovante Edwards Frye. They found a tan CO2-powered handgun in Frye’s apartment.
Frye faces a charge of intimidation with a dangerous weapon with the intent to injure or provoke fear, a Class C felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison if convicted. He is being held in the Johnson County Jail on $10,000 cash or surety bond.
