A Coralville man was arrested Thursday after a police investigation found he had 19 videos of child pornography saved on his computer, authorities said.
Edward Whitehouse, 57, is charged with 19 counts of possessing a depiction of a minor in a sex act.
According to criminal complaints, Whitehouse received the videos May 1 and they were discovered by law enforcement Thursday. The complaints don’t say why law enforcement began investigating Whitehouse, but a news release from the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office states the case was investigated by the Johnson County Joint Forensic Analysis Cyber Team and the Coralville Police Department.
Whitehouse had his first appearance in court Friday and was being held in the Johnson County Jail on a $100,000 cash-only bail.
