Coralville man charged with sexual abuse of a child

The Coralville Police Department has arrested a 56-year-old man on multiple charges for alleged sexual abuse of a child.
The department arrested Noel Duane Scott, of Coralville, Sunday night on 13 charges. While caring for a seven-year-old child, Scott allegedly watched pornography with the child, smoked meth in the child's presence, placed a sex toy in contact with the child's body and engaged in sex acts with the child, according to police complaints. Scott allegedly committed the acts between August and December 2017 and multiple times in January, according to the complaints.
The police department charged Scott with four counts of second degree sexual abuse, a Class B felony; two counts of child endangerment, meth exposure, a Class D felony; four counts of child endangerment, an aggravated misdemeanor; and three counts of dissemination and exhibition of obscene material to a minor, a serious misdemeanor.
Second degree sexual abuse is punishable by a maximum sentence of 25 years.
