CEDAR RAPIDS — A Cedar Rapids woman is scheduled to make a plea on charges that she stole more than $10,000 from the Madison Elementary School Parent Teacher Association while she was treasurer of the organization.
Nicole Yvonne Blevins, 37, is charged with one count of first-degree theft. According to a criminal complaint, she stole $10,727.83 between Jan. 27, 2022 and April 6, 2023.
While acting as treasurer, she used the PTA’s bank card for her own benefit. She also took deposits, wrote checks to herself from the PTA account and made withdrawals from it, the complaint states.
Blevins was arrested in July and initially pleaded not guilty to the theft charges. Another plea hearing is scheduled for April 25.
