CEDAR RAPIDS — A federal judge sentenced a Cedar Rapids woman to 40 years in prison for producing child pornography videos and distributing them online to others.
Abigail Elizabeth Lambert, 32, pleaded last October to one count of distribution of child pornography and one count of sexual exploitation of children.
During the guilty plea, she admitted that she used, persuaded, induced, or enticed at least one minor to engage in sexually explicit conduct for the purpose of producing one or more videos. She also admitted to knowingly distributing the child pornography over the internet.
In June 2023, according to court documents, Lambert exchanged messages with an undercover officer — posing as someone looking for child pornography — over a fetish website. Lambert told the officer she committed sexual acts with two minors and that she had videos of the acts.
Lambert then sent the undercover officer some of the videos she had previously described, prosecutors said.
U.S. District Judge C.J. Williams also sentenced Lambert to five years of supervised release following her prison term.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Dan Chatham and investigated by the FBI and the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation.
