CEDAR RAPIDS - A Cedar Rapids woman faces charges after she was pulled over Wednesday night while driving a stolen vehicle, police said.
Abigail J. Southerland, 20, was stopped about 10 p.m. in the 1700 block of Bever Avenue SE after officers confirmed the 2006 Hyundai Elantra had been reported stolen out of Davenport, according to the Cedar Rapids Police Department.
A search of the vehicle turned up 3 grams of marijuana, police said.
When police told Southerland the vehicle was stolen, she responded, 'I know. I stole it,” according to the criminal complaint.
Southerland was arrested on a warrant for a probation violation stemming from a third-degree burglary case in Benton County. She faces additional charges of second-degree theft and possession of a controlled substance (marijuana).
