Cedar Rapids teen charged with shooting at car

CEDAR RAPIDS — A Cedar Rapids teen is facing several gun charges after police say he shot a firearm toward a vehicle Sunday outside a Casey’s in southeast Cedar Rapids.
Donovan Metzger, 17, is charged in adult court with intimidation with a dangerous weapon, use of a dangerous weapon in the commission of a crime, minor armed with a dangerous weapon, persons ineligible to carry dangerous weapons and reckless use of a firearm.
According to a criminal complaint, Metzger was caught on video surveillance at the Casey’s at 3349 Mount Vernon Road SE shooting a gun at an occupied vehicle, with other people around. Police said they found two shell casings at the scene, but no injuries were reported in the complaint.
Metzger had an initial appearance in court Monday, and was being held on a $10,000 cash-only bail.
