According to a public release from the Cedar Rapids Police, they have received roughly half a dozen reports of 'smash and grabs” from in and around city parks in Cedar Rapids spanning Friday and Saturday.
According to the police, purses or wallets that have been in plain view, oftentimes in vehicles, are being stolen after windows were broken.
The police ask that anyone who has information regarding these activities call 319 - 286 - 5491, and they ask that all individuals take precautions to conceal valuables if being left in a vehicle unattended.
