Cedar Rapids police respond to shooting in southwest Cedar Rapids that injured 19-year-old

CEDAR RAPIDS - A 19-year-old man suffered a gunshot wound Friday when shots were fired from a passing vehicle in southwest Cedar Rapids.
Police were called at 1:04 p.m. to Wilson Avenue and 18th Street SW, where they found a garage and vehicle had been struck by gunfire in the 1700 block of Wilson Avenue SW.
The man who had been shot, whose name was not released, was taken to the hospital by private vehicle for a 'gunshot wound to a lower extremity,” according to a police news release.
The injury is non-life-threatening, police said.
The shooting involved 'several gunshot rounds” shot from a passing vehicle. Investigators believe the attack was targeted and not a random act of violence, according to the release.
On Tuesday evening, a 20-year-old man was shot in northeast Cedar Rapids in what police also believe was a targeted incident. That man, who has not been identified, is in critical condition,
