Cedar Rapids Police: Man killed after car rolls over him in driveway

A man was killed Thursday evening in northwest Cedar Rapids when a vehicle rolled over him in a driveway, trapping him beneath.

According to a media release from the Cedar Rapids Police, at roughly 6:00 p.m. Thursday officers were dispatched to 416 Carter St. NW in Cedar Rapids for the report of a 'subject who was trapped under a car that had rolled over him.” As officers and emergency responders arrived they found an adult male underneath a vehicle in the driveway. The man was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the release.

After an investigation by officers, it was concluded that the man's death was an accident and noone had been operating the vehicle at the time it rolled over him, according to the release.

The identity of the man is not being released at this time.
