Police are investigating three shots fired incidents that occurred early Wednesday morning - two in the city's northwest quadrant and one in the southeast.
According to the police reports, the first call came in around 1:15 a.m. in the area of C Avenue and 13th Street NW. Officers responded to the area and through their investigation found that one residence had been struck by gunfire. No injuries were reported.
About 20 minutes later, officers responded to the 600 block of 16th Street SE for a second shooting incident.
Police said shell casings were located at the scene and it was learned that a residence in the 500 block and a vehicle in the 1600 block of 16th Street SE had been struck by bullets. No injuries were reported.
A little more than an hour later, at about 2:45 a.m., officers responded again to 13th Street NW - this time in the 200 block - about a quarter-mile from the first shooting scene at 13th Street and C Ave. NW.
This time, according to police, officers who were patrolling the area heard the shots and called it in.
Police said shell casings were located in the area and three residences had been struck by bullets. No injuries were reported.
Public safety spokesman Greg Buelow said the investigation is ongoing but preliminary information indicates the three shooting incidents are related.
