Cedar Rapids police arrest duo wanted in connection with Memphis attempted murder case

CEDAR RAPIDS - Police have arrested two people wanted in connection to a shooting and carjacking in Memphis, Tenn.

According to a Cedar Rapids police news release, local police were notified by the Memphis Police Department that 22-year-old Jedarius R. Robinson, of Jackson, Miss., and 26-year-old Ronisha M. Hackworth, of Memphis, were in Cedar Rapids in a stolen car.

Police stopped the vehicle at Highway 30 and Interstate-380 at about 12:30 p.m. Monday and the two suspects were taken into custody.

Police said the duo are wanted in connection with a June 16 shooting in Memphis. On that date, police found a victim with gunshot wounds to his abdomen and his car stolen, according to police.

Robinson and Hackworth have felony warrants for their arrest for attempt to commit first degree murder, aggravated robbery and carjacking.

Robinson also had an extraditable warrant out of Mississippi.

Both individuals were being held Tuesday at the Linn County Jail pending extradition.
