A Cedar Rapids man driving a stolen vehicle plowed through several yards and fences Thursday trying to evade officers, according to Cedar Rapids police.
According to a criminal complaint, police tried to pull over Benjamin L. Morris, 34, who was driving a stolen vehicle with stolen plates.
Morris didn't stop, the complaint said, and drove through several residential yards and crashed through several fences before stopping in the 500 block of 16th Street SE and running from the car. Police caught him in the 1600 block of Bever Avenue SE.
Morris admitted to knowing the vehicle was stolen and stated that 'he fled because there were warrants out for his arrest,” according to the complaint.
Morris faces charges of second-degree theft, attempt to elude and interference with official acts.
