CEDAR RAPIDS - A Cedar Rapids man who took a Chevrolet Impala on a test drive and never returned it faces a theft charge, police said.
John C. Manning, 28, obtained permission from Rossco Auto Sales, 3333 First Ave. SE, to test-drive a 2012 Impala, but never returned it, according to a criminal complaint.
Police said the vehicle was located at Manning's residence. Manning had altered the vehicle identification number and switched the license plates, the complaint said.
The keys were found in his possession, police said.
Manning, who was arrested Tuesday, faces a charge of second-degree theft.
