Cedar Rapids man shoots woman in the face with BB gun, smashes her car windshield with a chain

A Cedar Rapids man has been accused of shooting a woman in the face with a BB gun from a vehicle.
According to a criminal complaint filed with the Linn County District Court, Desmond Jermaine Martin, 18, allegedly shot Brenda Jacobs in the face with a BB gun from a vehicle located on the 1400 block of Second Ave. SE in Cedar Rapids on August 1, 2018.
The complaint states Jacobs gave chase in a vehicle and caught up with Martin who then exited his own vehicle, and used a chain to smash the front windshield of Jacobs' car, causing damage in excess of $200.
Martin has been charged with one count of assault while displaying a dangerous weapon, and one count of fourth degree criminal mischief.
