Cedar Rapids man sentenced to 5 years in prison for receiving child porn on work phone

IOWA CITY -- A Cedar Rapids man has been sentenced to five years in prison for receiving child pornography on a work phone issued by his Coralville employer.
Matthew Patrick Langenberg, 52, pleaded guilty to the charge in August and was sentenced Dec. 23.
His employer turned over an iPhone associated with him to Coralville police after child pornography was discovered on the device, according to his plea agreement. The employer, Bachmeier Carpet One Floor & Home, had seized the phone after an internal investigation.
The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office located 56 images depicting child pornography, 80 images depicting child erotica and one video depicting anime child pornography, according to the plea agreement. The images were received between July 30, 2019, and Aug. 17, 2020, the plea agreement stated.
He pleaded guilty to the charge in August.
After prison, Langenberg must serve five years of supervised release, pay a $100 special assessment and register as a sex offender.
