Cedar Rapids man facing murder charge after fatal shooting

A Cedar Rapids man was arrested Wednesday after a fatal shooting Wednesday morning.
Brannon Johnson, 21, is facing a charge of first-degree murder, according to a news release from the Cedar Rapids Police Department.
Police were called at 4:45 a.m. Wednesday to the 2100 block of Buckingham Dr. NW, where they found Jorge Maldonado-Vasquez, 27, with gunshot wounds.
Maldonado-Vasquez, of Cedar Rapids, was taken to a hospital and later declared deceased.
A criminal complaint, with more information about the shooting and charges, has not yet been filed.
