Cedar Rapids man faces attempted murder charge in February shooting

CEDAR RAPIDS - A Cedar Rapids man accused of being involved in a February shooting was arrested Thursday afternoon.
Laron Reginald Jackson, 27, was arrested on a warrant for attempted murder after a traffic stop shortly before 1 p.m. at Westdale Drive and Williams Boulevard SW, according to a Cedar Rapids police news release.
Jackson is accused of shooting a 34-year-old man, who was not identified, in the 2100 block of Scotty Drive SW around 4 p.m. Feb. 3.
Jackson is being held in the Linn County Jail on a $100,000 cash bond, according to jail records.
The U.S. Marshals Service assisted Cedar Rapids police in the arrest.
